We are searching for a Registered Nurse for the NSICU of a nationally recognized hospital located in downtown Portland.

Duration is 13 weeks with the possibility of extension

Night Shift, 1900-0730 3 days per week

At least two years PICU experience OR combination of PICU and adult acute care experience
Unencumbered OR nursing license
PALS cert

Preferred: Prefer experience with neuro-critical care patients, EVD management.

BSN, Current unencumbered Oregon RN license. Certification in Basic Life Support

10KPV provides care to adolescent through geriatric patients ranging from 16-100+ who have a variety of diagnoses which require medical or surgical interventions and recovery for Neurosurgical, Neurological, Stroke, Otolaryngology, and Oral Maxillo- Facial conditions. This population may include, but is not limited to:
• Neurosurgery
Involves all aspects of pre and post neurosurgery care involving frequent neuro assessment, safety checks, and pain management. Craniotomies – for intracranial hemorrhages, brain tumors, shunts, aneurysms, neuralgias, and traumatic brain injuries. Spine surgeries – for disc herniation, fractures, tumor removal, and congenital disorders. Transphenodial resection of pituitary tumors – care involves management of lumbar drains, frequent labs, close monitoring of specialized assessments.
• Neurology
Care for patients with encephalopathies, multiple sclerosis, Guillian-barre syndrome, myasthenia gravis, auto-immune diseases, seizure disorders including epilepsy monitoring with ictal SPECT injection and foramen ovale placement, and neurological disorders of unknown etiologies.
• Stroke Certified acute care- includes frequent observation and neuro assessment, potentially unstable and at high risk for complications
• Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery
Includes new tracheotomies and total laryngectomies, tissue transfers (free flap or rotational flap), thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, and resection of head and neck carcinomas. Involves all aspects of pre and post-operative care including specialized and frequent airway management, artificial airways, respiratory, flap, drain assessments, safety checks, and pain management.

Pay: $44-47/hr plus $100 sign on bonus and extension bonuses
