RN - Acute Care Float Pool (Traveler)

Abbott & Associates Professional Placement is seeking travel RNs for the Acute Care Float Pool of a prominent teaching hospital located in beautiful Portland, Oregon. Portland is a city teeming with incredible restaurants, a lively arts and music scene and fantastic public transportation system. Conveniently located less than two hours from the beach and the mountains in each direction. Summer is right around the corner - spend it in the gorgeous Pacific Northwest!
Work with a local travel nursing agency who cares and is there every step of the way. We are offering sign on and extension bonuses!
Contract: 13-weeks with possibility of extension
Schedule: Every other weekend, 12-hr shifts, 1900-0700
Current unencumbered Oregon nursing license
BLS certification – Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association
2 years recent inpatient acute care nursing with both medical and surgical nursing experience
2 years of travel nursing experience
Preferred: 5 yrs recent inpatient acute care nursing with both medical and surgical nursing experience; academic medical center experience.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
The registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The RN’ s care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics and meets the standards/expectations of a Professional Practice Model. In that model, the RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor. Professional accountability enriches the RN’ s engagement as a leader in promoting a inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork.
A. Evaluates knowledge of self and others:
1. Evaluates own knowledge and nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and evidence-based knowledge; identifies areas of strength and professional growth; sets and achieves professional development goals.
Evaluates knowledge and nursing practice of peers, recognizing strengths, providing constructive feedback and maintaining caring and compassionate relationships.
